0:03to begin to start off by curling the whole head with the technique i’m using
0:08here if you don’t already know this technique of curling
0:11I show it more in detail in my other video sort of like an everyday hair
0:14video and i’ll put the link to that video in the infobox to just check that
0:18out and then curl the whole head using this method also you want to make sure
0:24that the curls line next to each other go in opposite directions
0:28so once you have the whole head curls it should look something like this
0:33now to make the curls look more intricate begin to separate each curl
0:40and twist them in the direction that you curl them but just break them apart to
0:44make it look like those more curls so just keep going and separating each curl
0:50or whatever curls that you think needs to be separated and the reason i like to
0:55curl each piece of hair line next to each other in opposite directions
1:00is that you don’t get this whole clump of curls and the whole head doesn’t look
1:03like one girl it looks like different intricate curls and this is what
1:07separating them will help to do also
1:09so now that you have a beautiful head of curls
1:12you’re going to go ahead and take a triangle hair from the top of the head
1:15just about this size and you’re going to take your favorite hairspray and spray a
1:21couple of spritz right near the roots and then take a teasing brush or just
1:27regular comb and just tease the hair downwards also sorry about my awkward
1:32teasing here I didn’t want to get my arm and from the camera so i had to hold the
1:35brush weird but you know just teased as if you would normally to it
1:39so after you’re done teasing the hair it should look something like this and the
1:45hair should have a little bit of volume but not too much
1:48now just smooth out the hair that you just use with your fingers or you could
1:55use a comb – and just twist the base of the hair that’s right at the crown
2:00so you make a little poop in the front but not too large but not too small
2:03either you want some height but not too much
2:06and then you’re just going to take bobby pins and criss cross them to secure the
2:10poof
2:12now on the left side of the head
2:16you’re going to take a section of hair that’s right in the front and we’re
2:20going to swoop it backwards like that but before you do anything with that
2:24section you want to take out two small pieces that are in the front that will
2:28frame the face
2:29so I’m taking one that’s right by the ear and then a little bit above that
2:34so just take two pieces that you feel would look very nice around the face
2:37just so it softens up the hairstyle bit and now you’re just going to do the same
2:43thing for the side piece that you did for the top piece so just spray with
2:47hairspray and then take your teaser brush or comb and tease the hair little
2:51taking that section we’re going to bring it to the back and almost pull it up
2:59until it reaches the top part of the hair that we just teased and then you’re
3:03going to twist a bit push it up and then bobby pin it and you’re just following
3:07the same steps that you did for the top of the head for the side of the head
3:12so just crisscross the bobby pins to secure it and now you’re just going to
3:16take another section of hair from the front of the head on the right side of
3:20head and once again take down two pieces of hair that will frame the face
3:25you can take one also but I think – looks nice and now we’re just going to
3:34spray with some hairspray and then taking my teaser brush I’m going to
3:44tease the hair a little to give it some volume
3:51repeating the same process that we completed for the left side of the head
3:56I’m going to take this section of hair smooth it back bring it a little towards
4:01the top of the head and then I’m just going to twist it push it a little and
4:09then i’m going to secure it to the head with bobby pins
4:12feel free to use as many bobby pins that are necessary and try to match the color
4:18of the bobby pins to the hair once you have your three sections pin
4:26you’re going to grab a tiny piece of hair from almost under one of the sides
4:31and you’re just going to bring it up words and pin it at the base where all
4:35three of the sections meet and now i’m just going to take a bobby pin and
4:39secure it
4:46I’m going to repeat the same process I’m going to pick up a piece of hair
4:51bring it up words and then pin it
5:01and once again i’m taking a section of hair bringing it towards the base of the
5:09three sections and then pinning it with a bobby pin
5:12basically throughout this whole hairstyle
5:15you’re just going to be picking up little pieces of hair you can make them
5:19small medium or big just don’t make it a chunk of hair and you’re going to bring
5:23it up words and then secure it
5:25feel free to pick up and pin as many pieces as you want you can also pick up
5:31a piece of hair and then weave it through some of the other hair that you
5:35already pin to make for a more intricate and almost woven look
5:49once you have most of the top of the hairstyle finish this is what it should
5:54look like to blend the half ponytail with the rest of the hair
6:02I’m just going to take a few pieces of hair from the side and pin it upwards so
6:07the half ponytail part of the hairstyle meshes with the hair that’s just down
6:11and now i’m just going to do the same thing for the other side so that the
6:17hairstyle mesh is better
6:23once again we’re going to take the curls and start to separate them and twist
6:27them just so that the curls have more definition
6:36at this point I’m going to work on the face framing pieces and I’m going to
6:40curl one strand back and the other forward so they don’t turn into one big
6:44girl
6:45they kind of go into each other which makes for a very pretty look and if your
6:50model or if you have bangs you just want to bend those backwards and curl them
6:54slightly so just continue to curl the face for any pieces until you get them
7:00the way you like
7:01at this point I’m going to jazz up the hair style a bit by adding these jewels
7:11and you can add any decorative accessories you like from pearls to BOS
7:15anything you really want and I’m just going to place them one by one and
7:20they’re totally random just pick the spot that you like best
7:24decorative accessories like these are great if you have a spot that the curls
7:28normal too good for bobby pins are showing the kind of help to hide those
7:32blemishes
7:34so once the hairstyle is complete it should look something like this
7:37this half up half down up to is perfect for any formal occasion you may have
7:43whether it’s prom a wedding if you’re the bride at the wedding
7:48a formal party of fancy dinner anything of that sort
7:52it’s a really great and easy hair so that can work on long or short hair and
7:57I know my models hair in this video isn’t that short but compared to other
8:01peoples hair like my hair it is relatively short but you can also do
8:06this hair on even shorter hair
8:08it’s almost like a bob it will still work you just have to play around with
8:11it a bit
8:12the outcome of this hell really depends on you and your personal preferences
8:16so you can put more hair up or leave more hair down whichever looks best on
